Daimler Truck’s “NUTS” (New Uncomplicated Treasury System) programme was recognised as a Highly Commended Winner at the Treasury Today Adam Smith Awards 2025, presented in June at the awards dinner in London. The Adam Smith Awards are widely regarded as the industry benchmark for best practice and innovation in corporate treasury.

The challenge

Following the corporate demerger from Mercedes-Benz, Daimler Truck faced the complex task of establishing a fully autonomous treasury function under strict legal, operational, and resource constraints. Treasury operations needed to be separated from the former parent company’s infrastructure to meet regulatory requirements, while operating with a significantly leaner team. Legacy technology was no longer fit for purpose, and a complete transformation was required — not incremental change.

The solution

Daimler Truck partnered with SkySparc to support critical elements of the transformation, with a strong focus on complex data migration, reporting redesign, and automation. Rather than replicating legacy processes, the project delivered a simplified, future-proof treasury architecture aligned with Daimler Truck’s specific needs.

The project was completed within an ambitious 18-month timeline, despite its scale and complexity.
