The challenge
Treasury systems were split and processes manual between accounting and operations. The client chose a single modern platform, but needed additional treasury expertise and capacity, so it brought in SkySparc to lead delivery.
- A parallel ERP deployment with a new chart of accounts and posting schema
- A complex derivative book needing bespoke design, including a new integration with the legacy hedge accounting system
- Floating rate debt migration coinciding with the move to SONIA, with little live data to test with
- No existing testing materials to reuse
- A small team with no backfill coordinating several vendors, internal IT and consultancies
The solution
SkySparc filled the gap in the project team, bringing TMS and ERP expertise, project management and delivery strategy.
- Architecture validation across the TMS, Oracle ERP and hedge accounting systems
- FIS Quantum build with real-time FIS ERP Connector integration to Oracle Fusion for journals and forecasting
- An integrated plan covering FIS Quantum, Oracle Fusion, integration, testing and procedures
- End-to-end test management using an existing library of test content and analytics
- Modelling and testing of new floating rate debt valuation and accounting for SONIA
- Procedures and troubleshooting guides in a searchable wiki, with support through to hypercare
The result
The client went live on its business-critical dates first time, with a single automated daily global cash view.
- More than 80% reduction in manual journals into the ERP
- More than 95% of manual settlement calculations eliminated for floating rate debt
- Month-end close two days shorter
- Around 19bn notional value of derivatives migrated, across 22 deal types with no data quality issues
- Real-time payables and receivables data supporting working capital improvements and a reduced cash buffer
