Your Role
As part of our continued growth in the capital markets space, SkySparc is seeking an experienced Calypso Back Office Production Support Consultant to join our expanding team in South Africa. In this role, you will support live Calypso environments for leading financial institutions, ensuring smooth daily operations across trade lifecycle, settlements, and post-trade processes.
You will provide expert functional and technical support, troubleshoot issues, analyse root causes, and work closely with cross-functional teams to maintain high system availability and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily functional and technical production support for Calypso Back Office modules (confirmations, settlements, accounting, workflows, messaging).
- Monitor live environments, investigate incidents, and perform root-cause analysis to ensure timely resolution.
- Support end-to-end trade lifecycle processes, including trade enrichment, confirmation matching, settlement instructions, and reconciliation workflows.
- Collaborate with technology and operations teams to optimise BAU processes and improve system performance.
- Manage configuration updates, testing cycles, and release validation for Calypso Back Office components.
- Document issues, recurring patterns, and best practices to enhance operational resilience.
- Engage directly with client stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and high-quality service delivery.
Required Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- Strong functional understanding of Calypso Back Office modules and post-trade workflows.
- Experience supporting production environments within capital markets, including daily batch processing and real-time operations.
- Good knowledge of trade lifecycle across asset classes (FX, MM, Fixed Income, Derivatives).
- Familiarity with Calypso configuration, workflows, event processing, and messaging (SWIFT, XML, MQ).
- SQL proficiency for investigation and troubleshooting.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with global teams.
- Ability to work independently, prioritise effectively, and manage workload peaks.
- Ability to work on-site in South Africa as required.
